Our Mission

The Albertson Parkinson’s Research Foundation’s mission is to help create means to better research on Parkinson’s Disease through sporting events and other community events.

It is not a diagnosis that anyone wants to receive, but through research we can make that diagnosis seem less frightening.

Why?

Being a senior in college, the last thing you want to find out is that one of your best friends/ father has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. It is a frightening diagnosis that nobody wants to hear. Morgan, our founder, had to live through that, which is the reason that this foundation exists today. She has now had two family members diagnosed with the disease- her paternal grandmother, "Mimi”, and now her father.

After hearing the diagnosis, she researched ways to fundraise for research on the disease, but never found an easy way to get the money where she wanted it to go and really never found an easy way to go about hosting a fundraiser. After graduating from Graduate School she had the idea to start Albertson Parkinson’s Research Foundation so that she could host fundraisers meaningful to her and her family and be able to make a difference in peoples’ lives.

Through funding research on Parkinson’s Disease we will be one step closer to finding a cure… then getting the diagnosis would be much less frightening.
